Here's what working with us includes, and what you'd pay for it. Our fees are published, so you can see how they work before we ever meet.
Here's what working with us can include for investment management clients. What we focus on depends on your situation.
Your Future Cash FlowA year-by-year picture of the income your plan is designed to support, and where it may come from.
Income planningCoordinating Social Security, pensions, and other income, including when each one starts, and what your portfolio needs to provide.
Withdrawal strategyWhich accounts to draw from, and when, planned year by year instead of by a fixed rule.
ReservesKeeping the right amount available for emergencies and opportunities, so a surprise doesn't force you to sell investments at a bad time.
A portfolio with a purposeInvestments built around what each dollar needs to do, when you may need it, and how much risk makes sense for you.
Transition planningMoving from what you own today to your new strategy, while managing any tax cost of the change.
Asset locationChoosing which accounts should hold which investments, with taxes in mind.
Ongoing managementMonitoring your portfolio and adjusting it as markets, tax rules, and your life change.
Tax bracket managementPlanning each year across ordinary income, capital gains, Roth conversions, and the net investment income tax, with the goal of lowering your lifetime tax bill, not just this year's.
Easy-to-miss retirement taxesPlanning around required minimum distributions (RMDs), how Social Security is taxed, and income-based Medicare premiums (IRMAA).
Tax projectionsProjecting your taxes years ahead, so you can spot opportunities while there's still time to act on them.
Charitable givingUsing gifting strategies like qualified charitable distributions and donor-advised funds when giving is part of your life. Support what you care about while reducing taxable income.
Coverage reviewReviewing the life, disability, and other insurance you already have, and where there may be gaps.
Long-term care planningDeciding whether to insure it, set aside assets for it, or combine the two.
Insurance as an assetInsurance is one of our specialties, and it's often overlooked in planning. We look at how life insurance cash value and annuities could support your income, taxes, or legacy, starting with what you already own and adding to it only when it makes sense.
Beneficiaries and account titlingChecking that who's listed, and how each account is owned, matches what you want.
Estate plan coordinationReviewing how your accounts fit with your will, trusts, and other documents, alongside what your goals are for what you want to leave behind.
Giving while you're aliveBuilding in the support you want to give family or causes during your lifetime.
Regular reviewsA full review at least once a year, and help when decisions come up in between.
Plan updatesRevisiting your plan as life, markets, and tax law change.
Spending guidanceKnowing what your plan can support, so you can enjoy what you've built.
Professional coordinationWorking alongside your CPA, attorney, and insurance professionals, and helping you find one if you need it.
For clients who have us manage their investments, our advisory fee is based on the amount we manage, and financial planning is included.
The fee is tiered, so each portion of the portfolio is charged at the rate for that tier.
| Assets managed | Annual advisory fee |
|---|---|
| First $1 million | 0.80% |
| $1 million to $2 million | 0.55% |
| $2 million to $3 million | 0.50% |
| $3 million to $4 million | 0.45% |
| $4 million to $5 million | 0.40% |
| $5 million to $7.5 million | 0.35% |
| $7.5 million to $10 million | 0.25% |
| Above $10 million | 0.15% |
For example, if we manage $3 million, the first $1 million is charged at 0.80%, the next $1 million at 0.55%, and the third $1 million at 0.50%. The blended advisory fee would be approximately 0.62% per year.
Our full relationship brings investment management and planning together, and it's how we prefer to work. If that isn't the right fit, we also offer planning on its own.
We agree on the fee with you before you decide to move forward.
Depending on how your portfolio is invested, there may also be third-party platform or investment expenses, which are separate from the One Life Advisory fee. We explain those before anything is implemented.
Bring them to the Clarity Call. We'll walk through what working together would look like for your situation.
